Course Description:
Building on to the introductory course on Reformed Theology last year, where Dr Chan presented a profound concept of law of nature through the study of Calvin's Institute of Christian Religion. We were confronted with a rethought of our Chinese Christian identity and Chinese church identity. This year, we aim to reconcile the chasm between responsibility to the church and responsibility to our society. Through a discursive study of the literatures, heritage and thoughts of Puritan giants, we seek to understand how and why the Puritan devotional model has become one of our best answers to applying doctrinal truth as basis for life in this 21st century. Thus we hope to bring an emerging coherence between theological concept (Christian doctrines) and spirituality (teaching for Christian living).
